Ad Hoc Distribution

Ad Hoc Distribution allows you to test an application before it's available to the public.

1. You can use iTunes to load a Distribution build onto a device which we've listed in the mobile provisioning file, so the first step is to make sure that we know the UDID of the device you want to use.

2. We'll use the UDID you give us to create the .mobileprovision file, then send you that file and a .zip and .ipa file containing the app.

3. In iTunes, drag the .mobileprovision file into Library/Apps.

4a. If you're using OSX, unzip the .zip file and drag the .app file to Library/Apps.

4b. If you're using Windows, drag the .ipa file to Library/Apps. (I know that sounds the wrong way around, but work with me here.)

5. You should now be able to see the new application in Library/Apps - don't worry about its icon being weird.

6. Plug your device into your computer. If you select your device from the Devices list and choose the "Apps" tab, you'll see the new app in the list.

7. Sync your device and try out your app.
